In a first for the New Westminster Philippine Festival Society, it is organizing a multicultural gathering to be held on July 1 to celebrate Canada Day. A mosaic of various cultures will be highlighted in the event at the New Westminster Pier Park. Festivities start at 3 p.m. and last until 10 p.m.
The New Westminster Multicultural Festival is organized in cooperation with the City of New Westminster, notably with the support of Councillor Chuck Puchmayr. It is also backed by the New Westminster Record newspaper. There will be lots of booths for food as well as other nonfood exhibitors.
Fireworks will cap the celebration of music and performances from various cultures.
The New Westminster Philippine Festival Society is led by President Salve Dayao.
