In the Simplest Things, Life Truly Sings
By Bella Balisi-Bevilacqua

In the quiet dawn, the world begins to hum,
A tiny bird sings as the morning sun does come,
Its wings a flutter, a whisper soft and sweet,
A moment of grace, a life that’s complete.
The rustle of leaves beneath gentle feet,
Each foot so humble, yet every step’s a feat,
A fleeting breeze that dances through the air,
While the love is unspoken, there’s a bond we share.
The laughter of children, simple and pure,
A constant joy, a feeling so sure,
Such warmth of hands held in gentle embrace,
In small acts of kindness, we find our grace.
The flicker of candles on a quiet night,
A soft glow casting shadows in the light,
The smell of rice cooking, the home’s embrace,
In these little things, we find our place.
A grandmother’s story, told slow and kind,
A reminder of wisdom, of heart and mind,
The twinkling of stars in the vast, dark sky,
In these tiny wonders, we learn to fly.
A child’s first steps, a mother’s soft tears,
The healing touch that calms all our fears,
The scent of melons, ripe and full of taste,
In small pleasures, time does not waste.
The ripple of water in a quiet stream,
The beauty of night, as it fades into dream,
The grace of a butterfly, light on its wings,
In the simplest things, life truly sings.
A whispered prayer in the still of the night,
A promise made to hold each other tight,
The smallest of gestures, so easy to miss,
Yet in them, we find a world whole of bliss.
So let us remember, in all that we do,
That small things carry love, pure and true,
For in each quiet moment, and each soft sigh,
We find the greatness that money can’t buy.
