Comedian-host Vice Ganda has an early Christmas treat to fans as his latest movie—with co-stars Coco Martin, Awra Briguela, and Onyok Pineda—titled The Super Parental Guardians opens on November 30 in 240 cinemas nationwide.
Talking about his experiences while doing the movie, Vice said, “Masaya, nakakatuwa kasi para kaming may anak na talaga ni Coco. Parang anak niya si Onyok, anak ko si Awra.Kaya mas lumaki ‘yung grupo namin ni Coco, mas sumaya.”
The It’s Showtime host will tour around the country to promote the movie. “Tuloy pa rin kasi hindi natatapos. ‘Pag nagshowing kami, diretso pa rin ikot. Baka nga magkaroon ako ng out-of-town shows to promote the movie kahit showing na siya. Baka magpunta ako sa mga ibang lugar katulad ng Cebu, Davao. I-a-announce namin kung saan kami mapupunta.”
Vice also considers this movie as his Christmas gift for himself.
“Ito na rin ‘yung regalo ko sa sarili ko, eh. I have to do this for myself, I have to do this for my movie, I have to do this for my audience at ineenjoy ko siya. I don’t really consider this as work kasi masaya ako. Masaya ako kasama ko si Awra. Masaya ako kasama ko ibang artista at saka once a year ko lang naman itong ginagawa kaya ineenjoy ko na.”
What does he want moviegoers to take away after they have seen the movie?
Saying that he wants the movie to bring happiness to viewers so they can also spread the good vibes, Vice explained, “Kasi ang dami nangyayari sa Pilipinas na nakakaapekto sa emosyon natin araw-araw, nagiging sanhi ng galit, ng away ng bawat isa. Gusto ko maging dahilan ito ng mga tao para lumiwanag ulit ang paligid natin, ang kaisipan natin, maging masaya lang tayo at maging positibo tayo sa lahat ng bagay.”
Talking about the message of the movie, Vice, who used ABS-CBN’s Christmas theme called Isang Pamilya Tayo, said, “Pwede tayo maging pamilya kahit hindi tayo magkakadugo. At, ‘yun ang kailangan ng bansa natin ngayon na ituring nating ang isa’t isa na pamilya at hindi kaaway.”
As of press time, In his Twitter post early morning of December 1, Vice Ganda shared that “The Super Parental Guardians” has earned 68 million pesos on it’s first day of showing.
The comedian also mentioned that he dedicates the movie’s success to his Metro Manila Film Fest block buster director Wenn Deramas, who passed away early this year. (G. Lastrilla, push.com)
