In the battle for the hot seat against Linda Shea, Rañola was down, 5-7, but surged past her foe to win the next three racks and book her place in the finals with a 7-5 win. In the extended finals format which was a race-to-nine Rañola faced Tiffany Nelson, who came through from the one-loss side. Under the tournament format, if Nelson reached seven racks first, it would be a race-to-nine, which actually happened.
