Google celebrates Jose Rizal’s 158th birthday

MANILA – Google on Wednesday celebrated the 158th birth anniversary of national hero Jose Rizal with a special doodle.
The doodle features the likeness of Rizal along with a quill pen, an excerpt from his novels that inspired the Philippine revolution, and a magnifying glass to represent his occupation as an ophthalmologist.
“Today, Rizal is remembered as a Filipino national hero whose expression of love and devotion for his nation in his novels, essays, and articles inspired a revolution,” the search engine said.
