I consider this trip to the Philippines as one of the best and busiest visits. I left Vancouver Jan. 25, to attend the awards night of the Philippine Sportswriter Association in Manila Hotel Jan. 27, for all the Philippine Olympians and the main awardee is Carlos Yulo, because of his 2 gold medals won in Paris Olympics and special recognitions to all living Olympians.
Feb. 1, Aurora A. Quezon Elementary School Golden Anniversary
Feb. 2, I was invited as guest speaker and to become a Honorary member of the Grand Singko Manila (GSM) Eagles Club.
Feb. 7, competing in the 76’ PAL Interclub Golf Tournament 2025
Feb. 14-15 PAL Media Golf Tournament.
Feb. 19, Special meeting of the Philippine Olympians Association special meeting of officers. I was honored to be part of officers as one of the Board of Directors. Freddie Webb still the Chairman and the new President is Stephen Fernandez.
Feb. 20, Reunion of FEU Basketball Players together with Coach Turo Valenzona.
Even during my brief stay in the Philippines, I was in constant touch with friends about the goings-on in our community.
I know that work continues to be done for the plan to develop a Filipino community and cultural centre. Kudos to folks who are dedicated to this mission. You know who you are and we are all proud of you.
While I am encouraged by the good work many individuals are doing, I am distressed to hear about unpleasant deeds being perpetrated by some people in our midst.
What is common is that you have the same few people who are causing divisions in the community. You can count them by the fingers.
I have started catching with friends about the nefarious activities these people are doing.
I will share the lowdown with you dear readers in my upcoming columns.
Abangan!
