The United Filipino Canadian Association of British Columbia (UFCABC) welcomed the Advent season with a festive Christmas party on Friday, December 6, 2024. Held at Dine KANADIYAN in New Westminster, the event brought together UFCABC Board and members, Friends, supporters and members of the Filipino Canadian community for a joyful evening filled with unity and holiday spirit.

The evening’s event was hosted by Janice and Virgil, who maintained high energy and kept the crowd engaged.
• Cliff Belgica began with a land acknowledgment, honoring the traditional territories.
• Christian Cunanan warmly welcomed attendees and expressed heartfelt thanks.

• Bert Parungao discussed Alkansya ng Bayan, a project fostering Filipino Canadian community partnerships.
• Janice Lozano provided an update on the Bear of Hope fundraiser.
• Cliff Belgica outlined a fundraising effort to purchase wheelchairs for donation to the Philippines.
• Bhoy Tam, representing the Burnaby Pinoy Festival Pasasalamat, presented the Pasasalamat Leaders Award to Christian Cunanan, Bert Parungao, and Merlina Fayusal for their outstanding contributions to the community.
• Janice Lozano led the Prayer Before Meal.
• Special guest Mable, in her role as Deputy Speaker, extended an invitation for a UFCABC tour of the legislative assembly.
• The evening concluded with raffle prizes, giveaways, and community singing, creating a lively and celebratory atmosphere.

Circulo Pampangueno Kicks Off the Yuletide Season with Two Festive Christmas Parties
The Circulo Pampangueno Association of BC celebrated the upcoming holiday season with two memorable Christmas parties in early December. The first gathering took place on Friday, December 6, 2024, at UFCABC’s Christmas party at Dine KANADIYAN in Westminster, where members enjoyed a night of delicious food and lively company.
Just a few days later, on Monday, December 9, 2024, Circulo Pampangueno officers came together once again, this time at the beautifully decorated home of Mr. and Mrs. Nicanor in Surrey served as the venue for the party, adorned with festive Christmas decorations. The second gathering was filled with warmth, laughter, and the spirit of togetherness, making for a truly special holiday celebration.
Filipino Canadian Construction Society (FYSS) Hosts Annual Christmas Party and Birthday Celebration of Founder Amado Mercado Jr.
The Filipino Canadian Construction Society (FYSS) celebrated the holiday season with its Annual Christmas Party on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in New Westminster, BC. The event was a festive affair, filled with delicious food, lively moments, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It was well-attended by FYSS officers and members, fostering camaraderie and unity within the community.
In addition to the holiday celebration, the party celebrated the birthday of Amado Mercado, the founder of FYSS. This marked the second day of a three-day birthday celebration fir the week for Amado, which began on Friday, December 6, at the UFCABC Christmas Party at Dine KANADIYAN. The celebration continued on Saturday with the FYSS Christmas Party in New Westminster and later at the Vancouver Rotary Club Mountainview event at the Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre on West Broadway.
