Gerald and Kim on new project

  • THE “Kimerald” love team is back together again and the chemistry of their tandem remains very strong.

“May magic at kilig pa rin,” as one writer said after watching the trailer of their new show, “Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin,” where they both play triathletes with toned bodies, the product of diligent workouts in the gym.

“We really trained hard for our roles, doing a lot of running, swimming and cycling na siyang ginagawa sa triathlons,” revealed Kim, who just turned 27 last April 19. “Hindi naman magiging credible na triathlete ako kung lalampa-lampa ako. After ten years in showbiz since we met in ‘PBB Teens,’ I’d say this is our most mature role ni Gerald to date. I play Bianca, a girl na maliit pa, magaling at mabilis na sa takbuhan. I meet Gerald noong kids pakami. He saves me nang muntik na akong malunod. Naging good friends kami pero nagkahiwalay nang lumipat ang family namin sa siyudad. When I grew up, I met Jake Cuenca, who encouraged me to compete sa triathlon.

Then, Gerald and I would meet again at magiging love triangle ito involving kami nina Jake, Gerald and me.

“I really enjoyed doing this show kasi marami akong natutuhan about sports, like natuto pa akong mag-bungee jumping at mountain climbing. I’ve never felt more physically fit in my life.”

So how is it working together again when everyone knows they had a bad breakup in 2010?

“Okay naman. We’re very professional. The last time we worked together was in the movie ‘24/7 in Love’ in 2012. So five years ago na. Marami nang nangyari since then and we’ve become friends again. Recently, we also did an episode in ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’ at okay naman ang feedback. Basta maganda ang working relationship namin.”

We don’t think it would be credible for them to be linked anew since it’s common knowledge that Gerald is now playing beautiful music with Bea Alonzo.

“Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin” is produced by DreamScape and directed by Dan Villegas.
