Kris keeps ‘silence’ amid network transfer rumors

  • It has been months since Kris Aquino has been rumored to be transferring networks.

According to talks, Kris is set to leave ABS-CBN for GMA 7.

Following the expiration of her contract with ABS-CBN in March, Kris went on a two-month vacation in the US with her sons Josh and Bimby.

In July 1, Kris made a TV comeback, appearing on Marian Rivera’s GMA morning talk show “Yan Ang Morning.”

The same month, Kris had a meeting with ABS-CBN executives, which many assumed is about the renewal of her contract.

However, weeks after her meeting, Kris met with Television and Production Exponents Philippines, Inc. (TAPE Inc.) and APT Entertainment executives Tony and Mike Tuviera.

TAPE is the blocktimer producer of longest-running noontime variety show “Eat Bulaga,” which airs on GMA 7.

APT Entertainment, on the other hand, manages the career of Marian Rivera and Maine Mendoza. It is also the co-producer of Sunday variety show “Sunday Pinasaya,” which stars Ai-Ai Delas Alas, Alden Richards, Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola, among others.

Amid rumors, Kris broke her silence via an Instagram post on Saturday.

“My family understood I needed some time to reflect and just be on my own… You all have a right to your opinions regarding decisions I’ve made & continue to make because you are all stakeholders in my career, and I need you… But I’ve also been praying that you will reciprocate the respect I’ve tried my best to consistently give you by being a dedicated & passionate professional,” she said.

Kris also posted a quote, which read, “Never miss a good chance to shut up.”

She said, “I can & I will… Let me shock you with my silence.”
