  • chariceBROOKS, Calif. – Charice continued her world tour at the Cache Creek Casino Resort in Brooks, California over the weekend. She performed at sold-out shows as fans traveled from all over to see her. For many fans, this was their first opportunity to see the new Charice.

From being packaged as the next Celine Dion, Charice, who came out as a lesbian last year, changed her look and even her singing repertoire.

“I’m curious but hopefully she maintains that former Charice of TFC that I know is good,” Tessie Guinto of South San Francisco said. Hillsborough resident Chona Mirdana said, “I’m curious if there is anything new but I hope she’s still the same hopefully.”

While she did not belt out songs by Celine Dion or Whitney Houston, Charice performed R&B and dance songs during her shows at Cache Creek. Others say her change in look and image is a personal decision but it doesn’t affect her overall talent.

Jmarc Javelosa of San Mateo said, “I think Charice brings to the table, talent and I think that’s more important behind what goes on inside closed doors.” Avid Charice fan Gary Sy follows her career and concerts in the United States.

“I am watching her and seeing her for her talent not because of her who she is or her sexual preference,” Sy said. “Everybody has their agenda and priorities in life so be it. So again. I support her.” Edna Ramos of Edna’s Ichiban Productions, producer of the show, says Charice is still worth her investment.
