Saintly!
Say the word Edmonton and what do you think of? Alberta’s shining Capitol this city is separated by a river and known far and wide for its hospitality, emphasis on the resource sector (I.e. oil), the soon name to be changed Edmonton Eskimos and of course the once upon a time legendary Wayne Gretzky and Edmonton Oilers. Move aside sports heroes and famed industrialists to see little girl get the key to the city, province , country and dare I say world in the uplifting SpiderMable. Brought to us by IndieCa Entertainment and Taro PR do yourself a favour and order this charming biography from your internet provider of Cable company.
Good news stories are hard to come by. Edmonton ( and Canada) is blessed to have Mable Tooke among her citizens. No one likes to be sick especially to see young children in pain. Through no fault of her own at a very early age Mable is struck with cancer. What follows next is a story for the ages that not even Hollywood or Walt Disney could come up with.
While recovering at the ripe old age of six from cancer Mable’s caring parents got involved with the Make a Wish organization and the rest, as they say, is history. And it’s lucky for all of us that Mable’s courageous path forward provides us with a blueprint and road map on how to treat others and the altruism of community spirit – no matter how big or small or different.
Like children everywhere Mable likes superheroes only in this dynamo’s case that adoration spun out of control. All for the good. A newly converted Spider-Man fan Mable – with the aid of The Make A Wish foundation – assumed the role of SpiderMable and before you know it she is on the hunt for a celebrity kidnapping with Edmonton’s mover and shakers involved in the caper. Columbo and Inspectors Clouseau, Morse and Maigret would be in awe as to how this six years young dynamo is able to piece together the culprits of this dastardly deed. 0h, and with the citizens of Edmonton cheering her on every step of the way it’s heartwarming to see this little champion taking the city by storm and in the process making scores of people feel good,
Director and writer Kelly Wolfert does a wonderful job showcasing Mable’s rise to fame. Full of inspiration the key to this film is not just seeing how this little girl gets her dream day fulfilled but what comes next. Not content with resting in her laurels this courageous kid champions all her energy and soul to continue doing good things by becoming a charitable ambassador for other good causes.
What a story and what a wonderful person. Selfless and remarkable is what SpiderMable is all about. Seeing is believing which is a good reason why everyone should watch this feel good story about a real life super hero. Stan Lee would be so proud of her efforts. So should we(Robert Waldman).
