The Richmond 55+sers group is as an outreach program on health and wellness under the wings of the Multicultural Helping House Society (MHHS). The outreach of MHHS to the City of Richmond is a brainchild of our President and CEO, Tom Avendano, in answer to the needs of the Filipino community.
Our group was born in the summer of 2012 as a Filipino group. Through word of mouth, we have grown and currently our membership exceeded expectations. This is being achieved through collaborative and dedicated efforts amongst the members at large. A very special mention is the dedication of its core group.
Through each other’s volunteerism to promote good health and cheer amongst the 55+sers in the community, we are now joined by 5 other ethnicities making our group Multicultural while living up to the vision and name of the Multicultural Helping House Society.
The MHHS 55+sers continue to make waves in the Richmond community. Since its onset, it has participated in various Richmond City led and other Community activities.
Yearly fundraising events are well -supported. It is hoped that the friendship building and camaraderie which makes the group appealing may continue to multiply and foster more relationships in the years to come.
It is a belief that it is in working together that we achieve a winwin aftermath.
Come join or check us out in one of our regular Saturday activities that start at 9:00AM. For weekly location of the activities, please contact MHHS head office, 604-879-3277 or Marilou at 778-834- 8506. Love to welcome you!!
