YASMIEN Kurdi’s husband, Rey Soldevilla, celebrated his birthday recently and got a surprise from the actress: a brand new Honda car worth about P1.5 million.
Her fans say her husband is so fortunate to have her as his wife.
“Suwerte rin naman ako sa husband ko,” says Yasmien when we visited her on the taping of her hit afternoon show, “Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka.”
She herself wrote about her husband in her social media account: “I am so grateful I married a man as wonderful as you. Ang swerte ko kasi ang pogi mo, mabait, generous at super humble na tao. I hope you never change in life, because you are absolutely perfect the way you are. I love you so much! Happy Birthday, Pangga.”
They met in 2006 when she was turning 17. They’ve been married for six years.
“Flight attendant siya sa PAL. Seven years older siya sa’kin. He’s 36 now and 29 ako. Bumalik siya sa pag-aaral para maging pilot. First officer siya ngayon to the captain in international flights sa Cebu Pacific.”
Their marriage is pretty stable. “We support each other. We always communicate. Wala kaming inggitan. We always think we’re allies bilang mag-asawa at hindi kami nagko-contest.”
Yasmien is happy “Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka,” has just been extended. “Yes, kaya we’re thanking lahat ng viewers na nanonood sa amin. Lahat ng paghihirap namin sa show has paid off. Sa pambubugbog sa’kin dito ni Tita Gina Alajar as my mother-in-law and Jackie Rice as Ava, one time, nagputok ang labi ko. Nagdugo. Pero okay lang, hindi maiiwasan ang magkasakitan sa ganyang scenes.”
