Saso began her round on the back nine and shot an even-par 36. She recorded four straight front-nine birdies to close with a 6-under 30. Her round of 66 breaks the previous tournament record of 67 set by Michiko Hattori during the 1988 Canadian Ladies’ Amateur Championship at Shaughnessy. Saso sits atop the leaderboard, one shot ahead of Linn Grant who sits at 5-under 67. Alena Sharp of Hamilton, Ont. leads the Canadian contingent and sits in a tie for third after shooting a 3-under, 69 on Thursday morning.
