ONE FILIPINO COOPERATIVE, Pagbabalik-tanaw

  • Dahil sa nalalapit na ika-Pitong Taunang Pagpupulong o Annual General Meeting (AGM) ng mga kasapi at may-ari ng One Filipino Cooperative of BC sa Mayo 8, 2016, ibinabahagi namin sa inyo ang kasaysayan ng kauna-unahang kooperatibang Pinoy dito sa BC.

    Nailunsand noong Oktubre taong 2009 matapos ang ilang konsultasyon na dinaluhan ng  ilang samahan at mga lider ng pamayanang Pinoy dito sa Metro Vancouver. Sa pagsisimula ay nakasama dito ang Multi Cultural Helping House Society, Filipino Social Workers Association of BC, Filipino In Richmond Society at Filipino Circle ng Parent Support Services Society. Naisagawa ang mga consultatation meeting at workshop na may titulong: “Coping with the Present Economic Crisis, a Cooperative Way” noong June at July 2009. Dito nakabuo ng mga task forces para magplano ng mga kailangang hakbang para isakatuparan ang pagbubuo ng isang Kooperatibang Pinoy.

    Bilang isang samahan ay nakapagtalaga  ito ng mga opisyales na siyang nagsimulang magplano at magpatupad ng mga programa at serbisyo bilang isang kooperatiba.

    Naging opisyal ang  One Filipino Cooperative of BC noong nabigyan ito ng Certificate of Registration ng BC Registry noong January 08, 2010.

    MGA PROYEKTO at PROGRAMA

    Pahiraman ng Bayan

    Ang FilCo-op BC’s Pahiraman ng Bayan Micro Lending Service ay serbisyo para sa mga kasapi ng Kooperatibang nangangailangan ng mabilis na pagkakautangan lalo na kapag may emergency.  Ito ay serbisyo lalo na sa mga miyembro na baguhan at wala pang credit history sa mga tradisyonal at pormal na lending institutions tulad ng mga bangko, at payday loans services.  Ang  Pahiraman ng Bayan Micro-Lending Service  ay flagship service para sa mga miyembro ng kooperatiba lalo na ang mga bagong immigrant, live-in caregivers, at temporary foreign workers na may pangangailangan pinansiyal.

     

    Vancity signs partnership agreement with FilCo-op of BC

    Noong August 15, 2011 nagbigay ng grant ‘seed money’ ang VanCity para sa Pahiraman ng Bayan ng OneFilCoop.  Dinaluhan ang signing ng grant and partnership nina Andy Broderick, Vice President of VanCity Community Investment; Catherine Ludgate, Manager, Community Investment; Heather Gordon and Bravefh Chauhan, Program Managers, Micro Finance from VanCity Credit Union. One FilCo-op BC’s delegation was spearheaded by its president Tony Calderon, board members Cesar Flores and George Gaspar, secretary Pinky Labarda, and Marilyn Paulin, chair of the fund raising committee

     

    FilCo-op-IREMIT Padalahan ng Bayan

    Maliban sa Pahiraman ng Bayan, inilunsad din ang money remittance service. Nakipag-partner  ang OneFilCoop una sa Acumen Allied Services Inc.  at pagkatapos ay sa Global Pinoy Remittance Services Inc. Sa kasalukuyan  ay may matatag na partnership ang FilCoop sa Iremit Canada Ltd.  para sa pagpapadala ng pera sa Pinas at paghuhulog ng kontribusyon sa SSS, Pag-ibig at PhilHealth.  Maliban dito ay may ibat iba pang serbisyo ang Iremit.

     

    Pauwi SA PINAS Fly Now Pay Later

    New Victory Travel na pag-aari ng isang member ng FilCoop naman ang partner para sa mga   nais maka-avail ng murang ticket pauwi sa Pinas. Ang serbisyong ito ay malaking tulong sa mga kasapi lalo na yung mga mga emergency situation at kailangan agad na makauwi.

    Maliban sa mga nabanggit ay mayroon pang ibang programa ang FilCoop tulad ng Damayang Pinoy na kung saan ay makaka-avail ang mga kasapi ng kaunting tulong pinansiyal kung ang kaanak nito ay sumakabilang buhay.

    Nakakatulong din sa ating mga kababayan ang  Networking, Job Posting at Referral Services na kung saan ang mga kasapi ay mayroong malalapitan sa iba pang pangangailangan.

    Idagdag pa dito ang taunang social and team building activities  tulad ng Groto Pilgrimage sa  Portland, USA, Group Camping and trips, Summer Family Picnics and Bingo at the Park at iba pang salu-salo.

    Sa pangkalahatan, nabuo ang One Filipino Cooperative of BC sa layuning  isabuhay ang kulturang bayanihan at makatulong iangat ang kalagayan at kamulatan  ng ating mga kababayan sa kahalagahan ng pag-iimpok at wastong paggasta  tungo sa isang Financial Independence.
