Babaeng tumulong sa pasaherong naaksidente sa MRT: ‘Ginawa ko lang po yung dapat gawin’

  • Itinuturing na bayani si Charleanne Jandic, ang babae na nakita sa mga balita na nangunguna sa pagtulong sa babaeng naputulan ng braso matapos maaksidente sa Ayala station ng MRT-3 nitong Martes.  Marami ang nag-akala na taga-MRT si Jandic na kinalaunan ay natuklasan na pasahero rin pala gaya ng biktima.

    Sa panayam nitong Miyerkoles, sinabi ni Jandic, tubong Polomonoc, South Cotabato, at postgraduate medical intern sa Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center, na sumakay siya ng MRT para bisitahin ang isang tiyahin.

    Habang nasa naturang istasyon, nangyari ang hindi inaasahan nang mahilo ang biktimang si Angeline Fernando at mahulog sa riles kung saan nahagip siya ng papaalis na tren na naging dahilan ng pagkaputol ng braso niya.

    Nang makita ang pangyayari, hindi nagdalawang-isip si Jandic na tumulong para mabigyan ng paunang lunas si Fernando.

    “Medyo mahirap nang konti kasi duguan siya, so nag-focus ako doon sa pinaka-concern, which is ang naputol na bahagi ng braso niya,” kuwento niya.

    Binalutan niya ng cardigan ang sugat at tinalian ng sinturon mula sa isang pulis para mapigilan ang pagdurugo. Ipinakuha rin niya ang naputol na braso na naiwan sa riles.

    Nagpapasalamat si Jadic sa mga guwardiya dahil sinunod nila ang kaniyang mga sinasabi.

    “Siguro po further first aid training [ang kailangan] to cover situations gaya ng kahapon,” patungkol niya sa training na kailangan pa ng mga guwardiya para sa malalang sitwasyon gaya ng nangyari kay Fernando.

    Sumama rin si Jadic sa ambulansya na nagdala kay Fernando sa Makati Medical Center, at umalis lang nang maayos na kondisyon nito.

    Dahil sa pagtulong-tulong ng mga sumagip kay Fernando sa pangunguna ni Jadic, hindi lang naisalba ang buhay ng biktima kung hindi naikabit pa ang naputol niyang braso.

    At kahit itinuturing ng marami na malaking bagay ang nagawa ni Jandic, para sa kaniya, “”Ginawa ko lang po talaga ‘yung dapat gawin.”

    Naniniwala rin siya na sinumang tao na may kaalaman sa naturang sitwasyon ay kikilos rin para tulungan ang biktima.
