  • Special Message delivered during movement’s Christmas party on December 13, 2014 TAPSILOG is a funny name similar to Coca-Cola, Lululemon, Adobe, Apple, Banana Republic, Bebe and Chichiquita. It attracts attention that could start an easy conversation … which afterward reveals its identity as a serious advocacy group or a movement.

    It turned out that TAPSILOG is the only people’s organization in Metro-Vancouver which tackles issues not commonly handled by the FilCan community, specifically, the issues on China intrusion of the west Philippine seas and the rampant graft & corruption and plunder cases in the Philippines. To some, these are radical issues they can not comprehend with what TAPSILOG stands for. In the past, we use the power of social media and peaceful assembly to heighten the social awareness of the public … and coinciding are some dynamism going on in the Philippines carrying the ideals of genuine reforms against the vestiges of political and economic dynasties, and articulated Philippine Constitution Article XV11, Section 2 (Amendments or Revisions) with its enabling Republic Act no. 6735 (Initiative and Referendum Act of 1987).

    Moving on, amidst worldwide crises of wars, diseases, calamities, terrorism, pollution, drought and famine, is there hope for mankind on earth? Is there a need for a new international government?

    My answer: Briefly, there is no hope as long as people turned away from the God of the Bible..and gone into increasing forms of pleasure-seeking and absolute hedonism. Relative to this, the TAPSILOG will not be using the human intelligence alone, but this time, (most important and primary) is the use of God’s wisdom. In Colossians 2:8 — “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world, rather than on Christ”. And 2 Timothy 3:16-17 — “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”.

    And I’d like to end with the powerful prayer of Jabez…Oh God Almighty, bless us indeed Oh Father, enlarge our territories, and let your hands be with us always, and keep us from evils that we may not cause pains to others…In Jesus name we pray… Hallelujah..Amen.
