  • GMA Network reimagines the 1980 movie by Joey Gosiengfao, ‘Underage,’ which will

air on GMA Afternoon Prime, this January 16.

Bannered by talented and promising Sparkle stars Lexi Gonzales as Celine, Elijah Alejo as Chynna, Hailey Mendes as Carrie, the series features an intensely intriguing story of three sisters who are prematurely thrust into adulthood by going through a series
of emotional mishaps within the family. Their lives will change after a malicious viral video involving them trends on social media.

Lexi expressed her gratitude with the lessons she learned and towards the people she
worked with in the series, “It’s a really good experience and I’m really thankful kasi ako
po si Celine and na experience ko po lahat ng hirap, saya, struggles ng character. With
that, aminado po ako na mahirap talaga ang lahat but I’m also thankful kasi everyone
here ay parte ng craft ko sa Underage. Lahat sila tumulong sa’kin, ginabayan nila ako at
hindi nila ako pinabayaan all throughout the show.”

Hailey also shared how she enjoyed working with this project, “Sa set po pag wala po
kaming taping parang pamilya po kaming magkakasama. Madalas po kaming mag
foodtrip.

Meanwhile, Elijah is up for the challenge as she takes on a role different from what she
previously done, “Ang pinakachallenging po sa’kin is yung shift from being a kontrabida
po. Shift from Briana to Chynna ng Underage kasi magkaibangmagkaiba po yung ugali
nila.

Joining them is a powerhouse cast of some of the country’s most respected and south
after artists in film and television composed of Sunshine Cruz as Lena Serrano and Ms.
Snooky Serna as Velda Gatchalian, whose also a member of the original cast. Together
with Gil Cuerva as Lance Guerrero, Nikki Co as Leo Guerrero, Vince Crisostomo as
Tope Miranda, Jean Saburit as Ylvira Gatchalian, Yayo Aguila as Becca
Serrano, Christian Vasquez as Dominic Gatchalian, Jome Silayan as Rico Siguenza,
and Maey Bautista as Remy. With the special participation of Smokey Manaloto as
    Delfin.
