  • Jessy Mendiola is now officially Mrs. Manzano!

Celebrity couple Jessy Mendiola and Luis Manzano on Sunday revealed that they are already married.

Mendiola made the confirmation through a 5-minute video posted on her Youtube channel, as well as a post on her Instagram page.

The video showed the couple’s preparation for their wedding, which includes Manzano jokingly reading the lyrics to the song “The Warrior is a Child” as his wedding vow.

Among the wedding guests are Manzano’s parents Edu Manzano and Vilma Santos-Resto, as well as Senator Ralph Recto and Ryan Recto.

Some of Jessy’s family were unable to attend because they were abroad.

“All because of the pandemic,” Jessy revealed. “Isa pa, ang alam nila, June this year and kasalan.

“Don’t ask me to explain why we needed to hold it earlier.”

A grand wedding will happen in December, Jessy added.

“What if she is pregnant by then?” someone asked.

“Di mas mabuti. Double purpose ang event – kasalan at binyagan!” an onlooker butted in.

“In any case, if it happens, pinaka-happy pag nagkataon si Ate Vi. Ang tagal na niyang gusting magka-apo kay Luis, as she is 67 years old na.”

The couple celebrate Easter Sunday by sharing their intimate wedding on their YouTube channel.

Based on the report, the celebrity couple exchanged “I Dos” in February 2021 at The Farm at San Benito in Lipa City, Batangas.

On the vlog, Jessy and Luis were both emotional as the former walk down the aisle.

However, during their exchange of vows, Luis couldn’t help but bring out his funny side by reciting a verse from Gary Valenciano’s song “Warrior is a Child.”

Jessy curiously said, “Parang kanta ‘to, ah.”

She burst into laughter when Luis said, ‘Ay, mali pala yung nabuksan ko.Sorry, sorry.”

Turning serious, he then told his bride, “Haw haw, as we take the step today, I want to promise you that I will love you each day that comes.

“Even on those days na pareho tayong hindi kamahal-mahal, I will choose to love you.

“I promise to be your rock when you’re weak, to put on a smile on your face even on the darkest of days.”

For her part, Jessy told Luis, ” I will protect you. And I promise that if you grow weak, I will be there to fight your battles for you.

“Today is the beginning of our journey, our lives together.

“I choose to spend today and all of my tomorrows with you. I love you, haw haw.”

Luis and Jessy’s union were witnessed only by their immediate family and a few of their friends. This is in line with the national guidelines on safety protocol against COVID-19.

In fact, all the guests, including Luis’s parents, former celebrity couple Edu Manzano and Vilma Santos, who was with husband Senator Ralph Recto, were seen wearing face masks during the ceremony.

Luis half-brother, Ryan Recto, also appeared on the video giving a short message to him, “I’m happy for you, man. It’s been a long journey.”

The couple’s big announcement about their intimate wedding has earned several positive reactions from local celebrities in the showbiz industry. Among those who reacted were Marian Rivera, Derek Ramsay, Andi Eigenmann, Arjo Atayde, Jinkee Pacquiao, Vhong Navarro, Karla Estrada, and more.

Manzano and Mendiola, who have been together for more than four years, announced their engagement last December.

Luis is turning 40 on April 21. (abs-cbn / gma news)
