The fight’s not yet over for Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan.

After filing filed two separate cyber libel cases last July against YouTube channels “Latest Chika” and “Starlet” for supposedly spreading malicious lies against him, his wife and his children, he is now doing the same against the YouTube channel “Maharlika.”

Kiko filed a complaint on Monday against the people behind the channel, alleging that it has been airing defamatory videos against him and his family in violation of the “Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012” or Republic Act 10175.

Note it is not only Kiko who is on the warpath this time.

According to the lawmaker, his wife, actress Sharon Cuneta, and his daughter Frankie, will also be filing their own complaints against the channel.

“The contents of the videos are all false, have no factual basis and are intended to destroy or damage my reputation as a senator, public servant and husband to one of the most beloved celebrities in the Philippines, Sharon Cuneta-Pangilinan,” he said.

“More importantly, the libelous videos are meant to destroy the family. The libelous videos are not only intended to damage my relationship with my wife but also meant to destroy my relationship with our children,” he added.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has since asked YouTube to preserve the contents of Maharlika.

Department of Justice Office of Cybercrime (DOJ-OOC) Officer-in-Charge Director Charito A. Zamora explained: “The purpose there is to make sure that the integrity of computer data relating to the account is intact and available in the event that the complainant will pursue with the filing of the case with the prosecution service.” (N.
