Multi-awarded director Joel Lamangan has shared some advice to neophytes who really want to break into showbiz.

Still one of the busiest Filipino directors these days, having finished several movie projects even during the pandemic, Lamangan revealed that he couldn’t take tardiness and discourtesy of stars on the set.

Lamangan tackled these negative qualities in entertainment during a story conference for his latest project entitled “Fall Guy” held at the Novotel Manila in Quezon City on Easter Sunday.

Kaya dapat on time. Cost ng production yun pag nale-late. Hindi dapat,” Lamangan said.

Lamangan, 69, also said that he hates movie stars who do not respect small people on the set.

Ginagawa ko talaga yan,” he added.

Movie fans have described the brilliant director as a terror on the movie set.

So sana huwag nilang paniwalaan agad yan,” Lamangan said.

Award-winning actress Glydel Mercado, one of the stars of the movie, admits that she is still getting jitters working for Lamangan.

Kaya relax lang direk ha, I love you,” said the smiling Mercado.

In 1999, Mercado worked with Lamangan in the movie “Sidhi” where the actress won a grand slam for best-supporting actress.

Mercado added that she learned discipline from Lamangan.

Singer-actress Tina Paner, who is also part of the upcoming project, said that it is a dream come true to work with the popular director.

In the movie “Fall Guy,” Lamangan has expressed high hopes for its lead star Sean De Guzman, who he forecast to receive recognition after this movie.

In his forthcoming movie, De Guzman will play a social media influencer who becomes a victim of injustice. The movie is written by Troy Espiritu, produced by Len Carillo of 3:16 Media Network and John Bryan Diamante of Mentorque Productions.

Lamangan also admitted that he prefers working with newcomers over veteran stars.
