  • After a long hiatus because of COVID-19, the Filipino concert scene is revving up in Vancouver.

A series of shows has been lined up starting in the month of September 2022, and ReyFort Media Group is calling on the community to support these events.

The ReyFort Media Group wants to see these events succeed as life returns to a new normal in the wake of the global pandemic.

First on the list is the Aegis band, one of the most loved and iconic bands in the Philippines.

Known for their pop-rock songs like Luha, Halik, Sinta, and Basang-Basa sa Ulan, Aegis performs at the Bell Performing Arts Centre in Surrey (6250 144 Street) on September 10. Show starts 6:30 p.m.

Next on the list is Philippine Tapestry II, a cultural and fashion show by Renee Salud, the fashion ambassador of the Philippines.

Salud, a fashion designer and entrepreneur for many years, will be joined by models and beauty queens from the Philippines at the Heritage Hall in Vancouver (3102 Main Street). Show starts at 6 p.m.

Next up is singer and actress Linda Magno in a show called Timeless, an ode to her ageless talents.

Joining Magno are Carina Afable, Salve Dayao, JJ Cepeda, Jasmine Stacey, Alexis Lagman Band, and Goldie in a show emceed by Jerry “Papa Bear” Legaspi at the RedBar Lounge at the Starlight Casino in New Westminster (350 Gifford Street) on September 25. Show starts p.m.

Also lined up is Andrew E, famous rapper, record producer, actor, and comedian. The show is called Bagong Pilipinas Tagalog Rap Festival.

Andrew E will be joined by various artists with Dongalo Wreckords at the Aria Banquet and Convention Centre in Surrey (12350 Patullo Place) on September 30. Show begins 7 p.m.

As autumn slowly settles in, Kamikazee, a Philippine band whose music is a mix of pop, punk, rock, and metal, will perform in Vancouver on October 1.

Fans of Kamikazee, one of the longest-lived active bands in the Philippines, will see the group perform at the Enso Events Centre (750 Pacific Boulevard) starting at 7 p.m.

The return of the Filipino concert scene in Metro Vancouver has included power diva Angeline Quinto, who staged a show at the Massey Theatre in New Westminster (735 8th Avenue) on September 2.

ReyFort Media has been informed that other acts are possibly coming.

They include Morissette Amon, a Filipina singer and actress. Also potentially lined up is heartthrob Gabby Concepcion. As well, Piolo Pascual and Jericho Rosales could be in town to perform later in the fall.
