Diether works with TV5

  • He’s paired with Ritz Azul in the story “Wicked Ways” that airs this week, directed by Phillip Lazaro. He signed up to do not just one but two stories. His second  “Wattpad” outing will be shown from December 14 to 18, entitled “Seducing Mr. Wrong”, pairing him opposite Viva artist Sam Pinto.

Although he’s working with TV5, Diether stresses thatDiether he’s still under ABS-CBN Star Magic. “Pinahiram lang nila ako sa TV5,” he says. “Siempre, basta trabaho, walang masamang tinapay diyan.”

So what he’s been doing while away from the limelight? “I did some projects not in line with showbiz. Busy naman ako.” He’s being linked with Michelle Cojuangco Barrera, a niece of Danding Cojuangco, but he requested the press not to ask him about his personal life anymore. As a matter of fact, right after the Q&A, he left immediately and didn’t have any one-on-one interview anymore.

After Diet’s episode, the next “Wattpad Presents” story is “Wrong Number” starring “Star Factor” winner Eula Caballero and “Artista Academy” runner- up Mark Neumann. Viva is now handling TV5’s entertainment show and the company now has also introduced their own stars in “Wattpad Presents,” like Monica Cuenco, star of the stage version  of “Bituing Walang Ningning” who will star in “Iska Ispiritsta” that will be shown from December 7 to 11.

Now that Viva’s Boss Vic is in charge, we heard it’s not only Diether who’ll appear on TV5 but also Claudine Barretto, who will be doing a teleserye with TV5 resident star Jasmine Curtis Smith. We heard they will be paired with either Robin Padilla or Cesar Montano. Maricel Soriano and Roderick Paulate are said to be doing a sitcom. We heard  they also tapped Richard Gutierrez to star in the new reincarnation of “Ang Panday.” But if we were Richard, we’d honestly opt to have another show.

“Panday” was already done before by Jericho Rosales on ABS-CBN with a big budget and shot in the Ilocos sand dunes, but it didn’t rate as high as expected. Just do something original and more appealing for today’s generation of millennial viewers. (M. Bautista, Malaya)
