  • ate-gayAte Gay will no longer return to “Wowowillie” after leaving Willie Revillame’s noontime show last week. Apparently, he felt slighted when new co-hosts Cacai Bautista and Joy Viado took his usual place as the finale act of the show’s mini-concierto segment. Ayoko lang… dapat sinabihan ako para handa ako,” the Nora Aunor impersonator, whose real name is Gil Morales, explained.

Did the entry of the two ladies in the show make him insecure? He clarified that he had no hard feelings against Willie but he believed that some members of Willie’s staff did not particularly like him.

Jay Montelibano, business unit head of Willie’s Wil Productions, said Ate Gay left the show on his own volition.

“He the one who left the show. I was telling him nga and the manager, Freddie, na regardless na you’re the last, if you’re good you’ll shine… He can be emotional at madamdamin,” Jay said.

When Ate Gay did not show up for work the day after the incident, Jay thought the co-host had made up his mind.

“That would show signs of unprofessionalism. So for me sabi niya nung hindi na siya papasok, well that would be his decision,” he said. Joy and Cacai, on the other hand, supported the statement of the show’s management.

“Di ko alam. Wala akong alam diyan e. Joy said. Both Joy and Cacai said they hope Ate Gay bears no ill will towards them.

“We grew up in theater e so para sa amin ang orientation sa  amin we don’t see each other as competition. We help each other,” Cacai said.

Sa akin it doesn’t matter kung ako ang number one number two o last,” Joy added.

Aside from Ate Gay, co-host Arci Munoz has likewise left the show to concentrate on the new TV5 series “Undercover”, in which she will star opposite Derek Ramsay.
