Kredibilidad ng 2019 MMFF jurors, mangingibabaw sa Awards Night

  • Llamadong mag-Best Actress sa 45th MMFF si Judy Ann Santos para sa Mindanao, samantalang matunog na mag-Best Actor si Aga Muhlach para sa Miracle in Cell No. 7.

    Inaasahan nating topgrosser ang The Mall, The Merrier kung saan nagsanib ng puwersa sina Vice Ganda at Anne Curtis, plus Dimples Romana.

    Magkaagaw sa pagiging #2 ang Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity (Vic Sotto, Maine Mendoza) at 3Pol Trobol: Huli Ka Balbon (Coco Martin, Ai-Ai delas Alas, Jennylyn Mercado).

    “Maraming-maraming salamat sa pag-claim ninyo na magna-number 1 ang pelikula namin,” sabi ni Vice sa mediacon noong nakaraang Lunes ng gabi, Disyembre 9, sa Dolphy Theater.

    “Your words are very powerful. Maririnig iyan ng universe. Ibibigay sa atin ng universe iyan!”

    Umaasa pa ba ang mga taga-The Mall, The Merrier ng award? Acting awards halimbawa?

    “Best Float po, lalaban tayo!” mabilis na tugon ni Vice.

    Sabi naman ni Direk Barry Gonzalez na nagdirek din ng Fantastica na MMFF entry ni Vice last year, “Iyon po ang inaasahan namin talaga.”

    Pagbibiro pa ni Vice, “Ikinakasama ng loob namin iyong last year talaga, iyong Best Float na hindi sila umandar pero hindi pa rin kami nanalo.”

    Dagdag ni Direk Barry, “Saka ho naisip namin, dahil Dimples Romana, makukuha ho niya rito ang Best Support in a Comedy Role, Best Drama Actress in a Comedy Role.

    “Tingin po namin, sobrang na-amaze po kaming lahat, maski po ang management, noong pinapanood po namin ang effects, medyo proud po kami dahil totoo po, first time po siyang ginawa sa Pilipinas, na meron na po tayong motion capture.

    “Sa lahat ho ng mapapanood ninyo sa movie, puro motion capture ho iyon, iyong mga kalaban nilang manikin. Medyo nakaka-proud talaga.”

    Grabe ang composition ng jury ngayong taon sa 45th MMFF. Mga premyado at establisadong tagasuri at practitioners ng pelikula.

    Nakakatuwa lang na sa busy ng sked nilang lahat, napagsasama-sana sila para manood talaga ng mga pelikula!

    Malalaman ninyo kung sinu-sino sila sa Awards Night sa 27th.

    Aminin natin, simula noong nag-MMFF kami, hindi na kinukwestiyon ang kredibilidad ng choices (maliban sa pagbawi ng FPJ Award noon sa Oro).

    Comedy-action na may romance ang 3Pol Trobol: Huli Ka Balbon. Pangalan pa lang ng karakter ni Coco na Apollo “Pol” Balbon, nakakaaliw na. E, nag-Paloma pa siya at nakipaglandian sa papalicious kontrabida na si Andrew (Sam Milby).

    Ang Mary Balbon na mother dear ni Pol, ginampanan ni Ai-Ai delas Alas.

    Comedy-action din ang Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity, na tila inspired ng crime thriller na Ocean’s 11 (2001).

    Sa istorya, bumuo si Don Robert Fortun (Vic Sotto) ng team na may imposibleng galing upang makuha ang Pearl of the Orient.

    Ang grupo ay tinaguriang The Dons, at kabilang dito sina Zulueta (Pokwang), Johnson (Jake Cuenca), Kikong (Jelson Bay) at Donna Cruise (Maine Mendoza).

    Kaaway ni Don Robert ang kapatid niyang si Benjamin “Benjie” Fortun (Jose Manalo).

    Hindi na iniisip ni Vic Sotto kung alin ang magna-number one sa 8 pelikulang kalahok sa MMFF 2019.

    “Graduate na ako diyan. Ang importante, mapasaya namin ang manonood,” pakli ni Bossing Vic sa mediacon ng Mission Unstapabol nitong nakaraang Biyernes, Disyembre 13, sa CCA Cravings, Katipunan Ave., Quezon City.

    Nakaugalian na niya kasi na tuwing Pasko, meron siyang pelikulang ipinapalabas sa MMFF.

    Hindi kumpleto ang Pasko niya kapag hindi siya kasali sa filmfest.

    Basta, ibang-iba raw ang pelikula nila ni Maine Mendoza. (pep tropa)
