  • BC’s very own Fil-Canadian youth choir Himig Kabataan Cultural Society (HKCS) had a busy October 2024, starting off with opening with our national anthems and immaculate hymns at the successful benefit concert held by singing priests from the city of Malaybalay, Bukidnon Province at St. Joseph Parish in Langley on October 5th, led by Bishop Noel Pedregosa himself. Attended mostly by parishioners, the concert proceeds go to building their infirmary of their diocese in Bukidnon, Mindanao.
Two Saturdays later, HKCS represented the Filipino community at the Celebration of Newcomers Festival and Canadian Cultural Festival at the Nikkei Museum and Cultural Centre in Burnaby, with their refreshing a capella rendering of our popular native songs in various dialects. They were honoured with the presence of Burnaby Mayor Mike Hurley, with the support of Vic and Zeny Villamera.
HKCS is gearing up for their upcoming Christmas Concert for the benefit of St. Joseph Parish in Langley on December 7th, further promoting awareness of our rich Filipino culture with holiday songs. For more details, please visit HimigKabataan.com
