The boxing match in Zamboanga is dubbed “Golpe de Zamboanga” that will feature promising boxers of Zamboanga like Roel Aperese, Angelo Marcial, and Yoyoy Tanamor, younger brother of Olympian boxer Harry.
Marcial’s record is 19-3 and 18 of his fights won by knockout. Gadapan who ranks number 6 in the Philippines is the former champion of the WBC World Youth Lightweight division. Gadapan defeated Japanese boxer Yuji Itani last year.
The February 28 boxing festival is being promoted by Kings Boxing Promotions headed by Mindanao sportsman Junie Navarro. Meanwhile, Rey Fortaleza of Reyfort Media Group has expressed interest of organizing a Boxing Festival in VAncouver. with the possibility of inviting Marcial in case he wins. He will be matched up with a professional boxer from Canada to entertain thousands of Filipino and Canadian boxing enthusiasts in BC.
