  • Kapuso star and 2013 Miss World Megan Young was a huge crowd-drawer at the Pinoy Fiesta Vancouver held last August 16 at the Memorial South Park in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The regal beauty’s presence was a highlight in the celebration of all things Filipino, organized by the Pinoy Fiesta headed by Jojo Quimpo, with GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV and GMA News TV International as official media sponsors.

Megan-in-Vancouver-2Over 5,000 Filipinos witnessed Canada’s biggest and most anticipated cultural event in commemoration of the Philippines’ vibrant history, diverse culture and rich traditions. Attendees came not only from the Greater Vancouver areas, but from distant cities such Kamloops, Abbotsford, Kelowna and Victoria Island in British Columbia, Calgary in Alberta, and even Washington state, USA.

It was a special, heartwarming moment for the Kapuso star as thousands of fans patiently waited in line to meet her, noting afterwards how happy and proud they were of the first Filipina Miss World titleholder.

Megan-in-Vancouver-3Despite a growing number of projects for the stunning artist, Vancouver is just one of several international Filipino communities Megan has visited in 2016, having joined GMA Pinoy TV in the Philippine Independence Day celebrations in Carson and Kuwait earlier this year.

She is currently among the lead stars of the GMA comedy series Conan My Beautician, and is set to star in an upcoming primetime program later this year.

Pinoy Fiesta Vancouver concluded successfully with the thousands of Filipino Canadians trooping home buoyed by the excitement and entertainment from the truly Filipino celebration.
