Ka Heber Raises Money for Scholars

  • Heber Bartolome, Filipino folk singer and artist, on his visit to Calgary, entertained fans and admirers of his art at the Philippine Consulate General in Calgary in cooperation with the University of the Philippines Alumni Association of Alberta. Consul General Julius Torres and the Consulate staff and volunteers collaborated with the UPAAA for the worthy event.

    Singing some of his famous songs, Ka Heber, as he is known to his co-alumni from UP, entertained the guests and told them about his art. Ka Heber was a graduate of the UP College of Fine Arts.

    The exhibit raised $300 for the UPAAA Scholarship Fund. The organizers thanked the guests for sharing their time, company and resources for a meaningful evening of Pinoy artistic and nationalistic expression through Ka Heber’s art and songs.
