Hop on to the Year of the Rabbit

  • Welcome to the Lunar Year of the Water Rabbit! On Jan. 25, let’s wish former
president, the late Cory Aquino, a very happy birthday in heaven!

Rabbits are cute, cuddly, joyful furry creatures and many believe to be super
productive, too. They reproduce fast, which makes them ideal to breed for their
tasty meat. As some breeders have sadly found out, however, we Filipinos find them
so cute we can’t bear to eat them like chickens, or ducks, or pigs.

Back to breeding rabbits for having them around as lovable farm animals.

Now, as a mother, there is nothing more important to you than the wellbeing of your
child. From the moment your little one is born, your heart swells with love and you
are filled with a sense of responsibility to keep them safe and comfortable.

One of the most important decisions you make as a mother is choosing the right
diapers for your baby. You want something that is going to keep them dry and
comfortable, but also something that you can trust to protect them from leaks and
accidents. That is why local businessman Henry Go of Assure Premium Disposable
Diapers confidently announce “We are thrilled to offer an excellent disposable
diaper for busy parents who want the best for their babies to keep them dry,
    comfortable, and protected.”

As a mother, you make countless decisions every day, but choosing Assure should
be an easy one. These diapers are not only designed to provide maximum comfort
and protection for your baby, but they are also made with highquality materials that
are gentle on their delicate skin. Moreover, they are priced competitively, so you can
enjoy the best quality and performance without breaking the bank.

Manila City Mayor Dr. Maria Sheilah “Honey” LacunaPangan led the 416th
celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene last week. This is the first large
public gathering of devotees from different parts of the country since the pandemic
and it was highly successful and peaceful, with no untoward incidents.
    Congratulations, Mayora Honey!
The celebrated image of the Black Nazarene originated from Acapulco Guerrero,
Mexico and was first placed in Intramuros. Devotees express their adoration to the
Black Nazarene through annual celebrations through a procession called
Translacion. This was not conducted this year due to the pandemic. This was
replaced with a Walk of Faith that was attended by thousands of devotees.

The estimate of devotees who attended the Holy Mass at Quirino Grandstand at
midnight on Jan. 9 is 92,000. These devotees are believed to have joined the Walk
of Faith that transpired after. Apart from this number, the estimate of people who
visited Minor Basilica in Quiapo from midnight until 8 p.m. on Jan. 9 is 514, 000.
Despite the changes in the way the Feast of the Black Nazarene was celebrated this
year, thousands of Filipinos still went to both Quirino Grandstand and Minor Basilica
in Quiapo as a sign of their devotion.

Mayor Dr. LacunaPangan expected this big outcome of devotees as she is aware of
how Filipinos express their faith, especially during the Feast of the Black Nazarene.
Thus, she prepared early for this weeklong celebration that began on Jan. 3 when
the image of the Black Nazarene arrived at the Manila City Hall. She announced
details on road closures from Jan. 7 to 9 during her live The Capital Report on Jan.
    6. Details were also posted on the Facebook Page of the Manila Public.

Classes were suspended in Manila at all levels, and all liquor was banned between
July 6 and 7. As a result, there were zero reported cases of any disturbances or
injuries during the Feast of the Black Nazarene. (Reprinted from Manila Bulletin
