Vancouver BC for Leni and Kiko launches movement for 2022 election

  • In a meeting in Richmond B.C., the Vancouver 4 Leni Robredo movement was born, uniting several sectors in the Lower Mainland of B.C. to help elect the opposition candidate as the next President of the Philippines.

    The movement includes the Catanduanes for Leni (Lorry Gavierres Russell), Acountants 4 Leni  (Bert Parungao), B.C. Bicolanos and Friends (Beth Valenciano Cruz and Rene Balmadrid Alcantara),  Masbatenos for Leni(Francis Penalosa), Lakays for Leni(Tom Choy), and Pampanguenos for Leni (Madz Mercado lll).

    More organizations and sectors are expected to join the united group of Filipino Canadians of B.C. supporting Robredo as candidate for Philippine President.

    “We have consolidated  all the sectors in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland of B.C. to unite and help elect the next most qualified candidate for Philippine President who is no other than the current Vice President of the Philippines Madam Leni Gerona Robredo,” declares Amado Mercado Jr., chairperson of the United Group of Vancouver BC 4 Leni and Kiko.

    Mercado continues, “Leni is God-centered and a true servant leader who will lead the country to better serve her countrymen to progress and greatness.”

    Robredo is currently the Vice President of the Philippines.

    The opposition candidate has consistently  promoted livelihood programs for the poor, delivered relief goods and medicine to victims of calamities and natural disasters, and  helped in the vaccination of the poor people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Robredo is a lawyer and an economist.

    Chairperson Mercado Jr. announced that the co-chairpersons of the group are Malou Capucao and Myla Bagasbas Marrinier.

    The other officers are: finance, Bert Parungao;  events, Maria, Lorry, EV and Rene, press releases, Tom; and marketing and promotions: Mike Calingo and Gary Manansala.

    Some planned activities are: bowling (Mid- December 2021); Lugawan(third  week of December 2021); youth involvement conference (second  week of January 2022); and series on Martial Law stories (third week of January 2022).

    The next meeting will be announced soon by Chairperson Mercado.

    Present at the meeting on November 28 were: Rosa Pilar De Guzman, Evelyn Victoria, Danny and Amy Reyes, Ed Brocales, Cely Fortaleza, Garry Manansala, Mike Calingo, Amado N. Mercado, Bert Parungao, Maria Brocales, Francis Penalosa, Myla Marrinier, Beth Valenciano Cruz, Lorry Russell, Danny Barrozo, Tom Choy, Rene Alcantara,and  Amado G. Mercado.

    Chairperson Mercado, who is also the founder of B.C.-based Filipino Canadian Construction Society, said, “We are doing this movement for the sake of our Motherland.”(Pat Katipunan)
