  • The Korean Evergreen Seniors Society of Canada (K.E.S.S.C) successfully held the
second Evergreen K-Music Concert at the Burnaby Shadbolt Centre Studio Theater for
    two hours from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on August 19.

The concert featured music tailored to the tastes of the older generation, such as
Korean traditional instruments Danso (Bamboo Flute), Korean folk songs, pop from
the ’70 and ‘80s, as well as K-Pop songs and dances.

President of the society David W. Lee said, “Not only the number of audiences from
other cultures and ethnic groups, but also the number of audiences who enjoy Korean
music with their families is increasing, including young children,” adding, “we will
continue to find Korean music artists with talent and passion in the Korean
    community.”

Pat Parungao, President of the Pacific Canada Heritage Centre, Museum of Migration
Society, said “I don’t know the meaning of Korean song lyrics, but I could feel the
emotions of Koreans through the beautiful melodies. I really enjoyed the concert.”

Lee invites “multi-ethnic performers including Filipino to the BC Multicultural
Performing Arts Festival on October 28 this year. That will let audiences enjoy the
music and dance of each country, enhancing diversity and pride as Canadian citizens
irrespective of race, language, and country of origin.” Please contact David Lee at
