  • Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III sotto
    and veteran actress Helen
    Gamboa refused to comment
on the marital problems of their
    daughter Ciara Sotto.

    Last week, Ciara finally broke
her silence on rumors that she
    has left husband Jojo Oconer.
In an Instagram post last Friday,
    Ciara confirmed that she has
decided to return to her parents’
house, adding that the past weeks
have been difficult for her and her son.

    Sotto and Gamboa said they
do not want to speak on Ciara’s
behalf. “We’d rather leave it to
her, leave it to her discretion kung
ano ang gusto niyang ipaalam sa
    publiko about her relationship,
her marriage. Nasa kanya na,” the
    lawmaker said.

The two also asked the public to give
their daughter the privacy she has requested.
“She justwants to keep her privacy in the meantime,”
Gamboa said. “Hindi namin ‘ika nga’y gustong
isapubliko ang aming paguusap at ang sinasabi niya sa
amin,” the senator added. “At the moment,
hayaan niyo muna kung ano ang feel niya, kung ano ang
    diskarte niya.”
Sotto and Oconer were married in 2010. They gave birth to
their first child, Vincezo Xose, last
    year.•
