Kapamilya stars are most followed on Twitter in 2017

  • Twitter Philippines on Tuesday looked back at the most followed Filipino accounts and most tweeted Filipino celebrities on social media this year.

    Kapamilya stars had the most-followed accounts in microblogging site Twitter in the Philippines again this year.

    “It’s Showtime” hosts Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis ranked first and second, at 10.2 million followers and 10.1 million followers respectively.

    Comedian Vice Ganda’s account was named the most followed in the Philippines in 2017 while Eat Bulaga’s dubsmash queen Maine Mendoza emerged as the most tweeted Filipino.

    Other celebrities who made it on the Most Followed Filipino Accounts list of Twitter Philippines were Anne Curtis, Angel Locsin, Kathryn Bernardo, Yeng Constantino, Bianca Gonzales, Daniel Padilla and Lucky Manzano.

    Twitter Philippines also welcomed Myx Philippines and @ohteenquotes in the top 10 roster of most followed Filipino accounts.

    On the other hand, joining Maine on the Most Tweeted Filipino Accounts list of Twitter Philippines this year were her onscreen partner, Alden Richards, PBB Teens star Kisses Delavin, Kathryn, Daniel, Maymay Entrata, Elisse Joson and Vice.

    Twitter also released the top five most-tweeted loveteams of 2017 and these are AlDub, Kathniel, JaDine, LizQuen and MayWard.

    The social media site giant also said Star Cinema’s “My Ex and Whys” and ABS-CBN’s “La Luna Sangre” are this year’s most tweeted movie and teleserye, respectively.

    Meanwhile, Twitter named De La Salle Green Archers basketball player Ricci Rivero as the most tweeted Filipino athlete of 2017. He is followed by volleyball player Alyssa Valdez.
