Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero is still not losing hope that his soon-tobe wife, actress Heart Evangelista, will be able to fully iron things out with her parents.Although Evangelista’s relationship with her parents has improved after months of estrangement, the couple admitted in their past interviews that they are not sure if the actress’ parents will attend their wedding.
“Still hoping. Hindi pa naman sarado ang libro at ang chapter na ‘yon. Still hoping. Kung hindi man [mangyari soon], mahaba pa naman siguro ang panahon para maghilom ang dapat na maghilom,” Escudero said in an interview with ABS-CBN News on Tuesday. For now, Escudero said all he wants is to make Evangelista happy.
“I’m glad she’s happy and hopefully maging masaya din siya sa wedding namin na pinaghahandaan naman talaga namin. It’s a happy occasion. I hope everyone will be happy too, not only for us but for themselves as well. Siyempre kahit ano namang okasyon, may rason para tumawa, ngumiti at maging maligaya,” he said. Escudero also proudly shared that he is more involved in their wedding preparations.
“Sana maging maayos lahat. Sana matuwa at maging masaya si Heart sa kasal. Dahil ‘di ba ang kasal daw, para naman talaga sa babae ‘yun. Yung lalaki, assistant lang dun and nagpa-participate lang. Lahat ng paghahanda ay para sa bride,” she said.
Nonetheless, Escudero said he is enjoying himself in preparing for a wedding that Evangelista deserves.
“Nasa akin lahat ng sakit ng ulo. But it’s okay. I’m enjoying myself. Kaya naman, kasabay ng ibang mga gawain at trabaho. Excited at masaya. Hindi naman maikakaila na medyo matagal pinagplanuhan ito,” he said. Evangelista and Escudero, who is older than her by 16 years, have set their wedding on February 15 at Balesin Islan Club, a day after the actress’ birthday. They have been a couple for over two years now. (abs-cbn)
