In an interview , Regine is planning to turn over a portion of the funds to World Vision, an Evangelical Christian humanitarian aid, development, and advocacy organization. She said she wants to also allocate an amount for rehabilitation efforts.
Apart from donating the money, the two singers are also planning to hold a mini-show in the typhoon-hit Tacloban City. Regine believes that music can uplift the spirit of those who were affected by the destructive typhoon. “My husband and I, we want to go to Tacloban and have a show. Some people might think na pa- rang it’s insensitive to have a show there but for me, feeling ko mas ‘yun nga ‘yung kailangan e.
“They need uplifting and music. ‘Yun ang gift ng music – it makes you feel sad, it makes you smile, it makes you feel happy and in love. Lahat ng ‘yun kasi kailangan, they need to go all though that emotions e. Kasi right now, isa lang ang emotion nila (tulala),” she explained.
Ogie, the president of Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM), is calling his friends in the industry to join him in the charity show. Regine vows to accompany his husband no matter what. (mb)
