  • Guns and laughs synch up for a hilarious time in Spy. James Bond is out and an awkward middle-aged school-marm looking out to lunch lady is thrown unceremoniously into the mix in this campy send-up of all things Bond. Smart scripting and excellent casting mean 20th Century Fox will be sitting pretty with the results as swarms of filmgoers flock to Cineplex Odeon entertainment halls all over B.C.

Number one female box star in The modern movie world Melissa McCarthy (The Heat) shines as Susan Cooper, a lowly rather obscure intelligence operative best kept behind closed doors at C.I.A. Headquarters in Langley, Virginia.spy Not exactly one of the prime time operatives Susan is really the eyes and ears for agents out in the field – especially Bradley Fine. Dressed to kill and the ultimate charmer handsome Jude Law (Alfie) radiates heat on all missions he partakes in.

Unfortunately when the lives of our spy boys come undone it’s up to this rookie to take up the slack. Out of her element and with a make-over that will leave people shaking their heads Langley’s favourite secretary goes deep undercover – with smashing results. International relations will never be the same when Susan unleashes her not so subtle charms on a host of prestigious European capitals.

Laughs and gags come at you fast and furious in This dynamic adventure that will leave fans of such established series as Mission Impossible, The Man From U.N.C.L.E, and even Mr. kiss Kiss Bang Bang himself shaken and stirred. Blessed with a top flight cast including bad boy Jason Statham, Rose Byrne (Bridesmaids) and Allison Janney director Paul Feig nails this one. Full of wild situations, unbelievable dialogue and not stop action Spy is on target fun that’s entertaining from start to finish. Don’t miss it!
