MORE FILIPINO ASSOCIATIONS JOINING UFCABC

  • Building on its strong momentum, the United Filipino Canadian Associations in B.C. is poised for further growth. Several associations in and outside Metro Vancouver have expressed strong interest in joining the ranks of organizations that currently comprise UFCABC.

    The UFCABC was the successor of the Pista ng Bayan Society that was co-chaired by the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver to organize Philippine Independence Day events.
    UFCABC organized this year’s Philippine Independence Day gathering at Vancouver’s Slocan Park. This year’s celebration was also marked by a well-attended formal gala dinner.
    UFCABC is liningseveral activities to strengthen the umbrella organization of Filipino associations. One of these activities is Dinner & Dance on October 3, Sta. Monica Parish Hall.

    MORE FILIPINO ASSOCIATIONS JOINING UFCABC. The United Filipino Canadian Associations in B.C. is growing, with more community organizations in and out of Vancouverww seeking to be part of the umbrella organization. Like other community-based organizations, the UFCABC is proud of the Consulate General’s continuing endorsement of its work to uplift and celebrate Filipinos in Canada. An alliance of various and diverse associations in the Filipino community, UFCABC was the offspring of the Pista ng Bayan Society, a group once co-led by the Consulate General in organizing Philippine Independence Day celebrations. This year, the Consulate General requested community members to take the lead in Independence Day celebrations, and the core of the future UFCABC lived up to the challenge by volunteering their precious hours and talents.
