  • MANILA Having grown up admiring her mother and grandmother, actress Marian Rivera credits

them for shaping her into the mother she is today and for instilling in her the importance of family
    and motherhood.

“’Yung love talaga nila (mother Amalia and Lola Iska) is hindi matatawaran. Kapag full support and
love ang binigay sa ’yo ng parents mo, walang imposibleng kaya mong gawin,” she recalled.

A proud mother to Zia and Sixto, Rivera shared the valuable life lessons her mother taught her.

    1. Do the best you can

Rivera is all praises for the two special women in her life.

“Ang anak walang responsibility sa mga magulang. But ikaw bilang magulang, responsibility mo
talaga na mapalaki nang maayos ang mga anak mo. At ang mahirap na part diyan, kung paano sila
magiging mabuting tao. Siyempre iba na ‘yung generation ngayon. Hindi mo na alam kung paano
‘yung gagawin mo, so kailangang alamin mo talaga kung paano mo maibibigay ‘yung best of the
best para sa mga anak mo,” she said.

    2. Know your priority
The celebrity mom is living a wellbalanced life from being a mother to two kids, wife to actor
Dingdong Dantes, and an actress and host.

“Kailangan alam mo ang priority mo. Sabi nga ng Mama ko, kapag alam mo ang priority mo, hindi ka
mahihirapan sa mga gagawin mo. Kasi mahirap how to juggle your career, being a wife, being a
mother so kailangan talaga mayroon kang time management,” she said.

    3. Show up

Recently, a video featuring Rivera’s daughter’s dance performance went viral. She said she’s always
present at her children’s special moments.

“Iba talaga na nandiyan ka para sa mga anak mo na full support ka,” she said. “Support namin sila sa
mga gagawin nila sa sports or activities in school. ‘Yung pagaartista, mukhang matagal pa [sila]
    diyan. Magaral muna sila.”
Rivera’s message for moms this Mother’s Day: “Sa lahat ng mga nanay na walang sawang
nagmamahal sa mga anak nila, saludo ako sa inyo. Mahirap man pero super rewarding lalo na kapag
nakikita mong lumalaki na sila (mga anak).” (J. Mercado, abscbn)
