MANILA – “Whatever makes her happy, makes me happy.” Concert King Martin Nievera made this remark amid reports saying that his former wife, Pops Fernandez, was spotted dating again after her controversial break-up with actor-turned-producer Jomari Yllana.
Although clueless about Fernandez’s love life, Nievera said he wished her happiness. He said: “I don’t know. I didn’t see it. If she has a date or she was just with another guy… If it’s someone who is going to be romantically linked to Pop, well it’s her life. And whatever makes her happy, makes me happy.”
Nievera, who has two children with Fernandez, said he has no information about her rumored new suitor. Nievera is apparently keeping his distance from Fernandez’s romantic life. In April, Nievera got involved in a controversy after he and Yllana had exchanged heated words to each other.
The verbal tussle began after the singer commented on Fernandez-Yllana break-up. Nievera scored Yllana for hurting Fernandez. Yllana, on the other hand, called Nievera a “hypocrite” for meddling with his and Fernandez’s affairs.
