From the famous gag show Bubble Gang to game show Hole in the Wall, the hilarious tandem of “Yaya and Angelina” is now set to hit the big screen. Bongggang-bongga at ibang level ng katatawanan,” said comedian Michael V, who plays the role of the nanny of Angelina (played by Ogie Alcasid) in the movie of Ang Spoiled Brat.
In an interview during the press visit at the shooting of Ang Spoiled Brat last Tuesday (August 25), Michael V said that they made sure that people who will come to watch the movie will see something new about Yaya and Angelina, who are seen every Friday in Bubble Gang and every day in Hole In The Wall. “We made several adjustments para hindi magkaroon ng sawa factor,” he said. “Number one, we made sure na hindi magiging game show ang pelikula.
Aside from being an actor, Michael V also helped in writing the script of the movie. He said this makes it easier for the group to create funny lines for the story. He related, “Hindi naman kasi ako lang mag-isa ang gumagawa, we’re a pool of writers, we get several ideas.
Since tandem of Yaya and Angelina is already a hit to the “masa,” Michael V. would like to aim for the “movie-paying public” in their movie.
A BIG FAN OF DOLPHY.
Despite saying that he does not aim to replace the country’s top comedians, Michael V does not deny the fact that he is a big fan of Dolphy.
“Ako nga, sana gusto ko magkaroon ng project with Dolphy,” he related when the subject was shifted to doing the remake of the Lino Brocka classic Ang Tatay Kong Nanay (1978), which starred Dolphy and former child star Niño Muhlach. He recalled that this was once offered to him by director Mark Meily, but declined to do it because of his respect to the King of Comedy.
