Vic Sotto on TAPE’s over P30 million debt: ‘Bayad na, okay na!’

After months of speculations and issues regarding the noontime program ‘Eat Bulaga,’ actor
television host Vic Sotto released a statement regarding the P30 million talent fee that TAPE
(Television and Production Exponents) Inc., the show’s producer, was supposed to settle.

During the press conference for his new sitcom entitled “Open 24/7” with Maja Salvador and
Jose Manalo at Seda Hotel in Quezon City, Sotto was a bit cautious in answering questions about
“Eat Bulaga.”

After being ambushed by other media, Sotto finally gave in to their pressure and admitted that
the P30 million talent fee debt had been resolved.

‘Okay na bayad na, buti na lang namedia,’ he said.

(Okay it’s paid, it’s a good thing it’s in the media)

Sotto also mentioned that it was not a joke and was surprised when the company finally settled
its debt.

‘Oo, nabayaran na! It’s not a joke, Hindi ko naman inaasahan yun, kaya thank you na rin,” he
added.

When asked about the exact amount of debt paid, Sotto chose not to reveal it.

Despite his statement about the debt issue, Vic continues to make things work with the new
management under Romy Jalosjos, who took over production.

‘I will comment on that when the right time comes.’ he said.

According to Sotto, the most important thing right now is for everyone on the show to keep
doing their everyday routines.

‘Kahit ano naman mangyari talaga samasama kami,’ Vic mentioned.

Aside from Vic, Maja and Jose, Sparkle Sweethearts Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay, Sparkle
artists Riel Lamodilla, Anjay Anson, Kimson Tan, Abed Green and Bruce will also join ‘Open
24/7′ Roeland as Doe.

From the direction of JR Reyes under MZet Productions, ‘Open 24/7’ can be seen starting May
27, after ‘Magpakailanman’ on GMA 7. (C. Alcantara, mb.com.ph)
