Nora Aunor celebrates birthday with new Guy and Pip project

nora-aunor (1)The one and only Superstar Nora Aunor celebrated her 60th birthday last May 21 with a big announcement that surprised all her guests. During her birthday tribute held at the Meralco Multi- Purpose Hall in Ortigas, Ate Guy together with TV5 Business Unit Head JoAnn Banaga and director Joel Lamangan officially announced her next project—the romantic made-for-TV movie When I Fall In Love, which she will headline alongside former on-screen partner Tirso Cruz III. The cast of the upcoming tele-movie, which includes Marvin Agustin, Nadine Samonte, Karel Marquez, and Akihiro Blanco, were also present to share this news.

Nora’s birthday bash truly became a joyful affair for the award- winning actress as it gave her a chance to spend time with her supporters who have been with her throughout her career. The program, entitled “Noon, Bukas, Ngayon (Isang Natatanging Selebrasyon Para sa Nag-iisang Superstar),” served as a Grand Fans Day that featured a touching segment where 60 representatives from Ate Guy’s various fan clubs gave their idol gifts and loving messages. Ate Guy has gained fans from all ages, each of them carrying stories of how the Superstar touched their lives.

Other highlights of the event included performances from Ate Guy’s anak-anakan in showbiz— Vin Abrenica, Sophie Albert, Edgar Allan Guzman, Eula Caballero, and Nadine Samonte. Her daughter Matet de Leon was also present in the event. Several of Ate Guy’s friends in the entertainment industry also took time out to send their well wishes via video greetings.

Aside from the return of the famed Guy and Pip love team, Noranians should also watch out for her next film Ang Kwento Ni Mabuti. The much anticipated CineFilipino Film Festival entry of acclaimed independent filmmaker Mes de Guzman is touted to be  another potentially award-winning project for Ate Guy. The Superstar gives a performance like audiences have never seen before, delivering all her lines in Ilocano for the first time as she takes on the titular role of Mabuti.

With new and exciting projects ahead of her, Ate Guy shows no signs of retiring anytime soon. If anything, the love from her fans and the unwavering support of her family and her friends in the industry fuels her to continue sharing her world-class talents with everyone, touching their lives on- and off-screen. At 60, it seems that the best is yet to come for the country’s Superstar.
