“MMK” BRINGS TOGETHER OPM ICONS FOR 25TH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE ALBUM

After chronicling real-life stories of Filipinos for 25 years, “Maalaala Mo Kaya” releases a collection of songs that will give inspiration to Filipinos worldwide via a commemorative album that marks the silver anniversary of Asia’s longest-running drama anthology.

The album, called “MMK Life Songs,” features songs that celebrate the most memorable moments in life and are interpreted by OPM icons and the new generation of OPM singers in the country.

The album is even made more special as each song and artist was personally picked by “MMK” host Charo Santos.

“The album contains beautiful songs, and I hope it brings inspiration to our Kapamilyas. It is a great companion for wherever you are and whatever you do. It makes one reflective. Some of the songs also give you ‘kilig’ and make you remember your loved ones,” shared Charo.

All tracks also showcases interludes or “reflections” narrated by Charo herself.

The album’s first single is the recently released “Desiderata,” a poem originally written by Max Ehrmann and translated into Filipino by Enrico Santos. It features TBUP choir and this year’s biggest collaboration of OPM icons Lea Salonga, Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Lani Misalucha, Ogie Alcasid, Zsa Zsa Padilla, and Sharon Cuneta.

Launched in July, “Desiderata’s” music video has already received positive feedback from audiences, as well as people within the industry, and has been raking in thousands of views online.

“MMK Life Songs” also contains “Sana” sung by her granddaughter Julia Concio and Piolo Pascual, “Handog” performed by Aiza Seguerra and Noel Cabangon, and “Iingatan Ka” by daughter-mother duo Janella Salvador and Jenine Desiderio.

Also featured in the album are internationally acclaimed artists Charice and Jed Madela, and acclaimed singers Darren Espanto, Jona, Juris, Kyla, and KZ.

Completing the track list are “Because You Loved Me,” “I’ll Be There For You,” “You,” She’s Always a Woman,” “Gaya ng Dati,” “Piece by Piece,” and “I’ll Be There.”

“MMK Life Songs,” produced by Jonathan Manalo, is now available at all record bars nationwide for P350. Digital tracks can also be downloaded via online music stores such as ABS-CBN Store, iTunes, Mymusicstore.com.ph, Amazon.com, OneMusic.ph, and Starmusic.ph.
