A DREAM COME TRUE for Strummin’& Jammin’ Year 4

Big events in life happen as a result of little things that a person accomplishes ‘as time goes by’. These words seemed to be a familiar introduction of a song entitled, ‘Color My World’ sang by a famous Chicago in the 70s. A song filled with realization of what real love can conquer. Yes, music is the inspiration of Strummin’ & Jammin’ which was first launch in 2012 in a quaint St. Anne’s Hall of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Coquitlam.

A simple birthday celebration in a bigger venue would give more opportunity for guests to enjoyeach other’s company by singing the tune of the 70s. Harmonized singing and skillful playing of guitars were the main focus of the event.

It was a night to remember for those who took time to rehearse, perform and simply enjoy the night’s music and dinner. Gift donation was given to ANCOP (Answering
the Cry of the Poor) and venue rental.

Everything else was history for Strummin’ & Jammin’ in 2012. Every year, dreaming and planning to do something exciting, interesting and different focusing on the skills and talents of the grass root members of the community motivated the organizing team.

In 2014, the show featured a silent auction of paintings of an artist. According to the artist, “I am very grateful to have been given the chance to have my works auctioned in Strummin’ & Jammin’ because it opened an opportunity for me to have my artworks displayed and at the same time, I was able to help in raising funds for the children who are sponsored by ANCOP.”

“LOVE is Real. Real is LOVE” is the theme of Strummin’ & Jammin’ Year 4 slated on Saturday, September 12 at 7:30 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. It another musical show participated in by musically inclined and talented brothers and sisters in CFC community. New paintings of talented artists will again highlight the Silent Auction for ANCOP Scholars.
