  • Mayweather cannot live permanently without being haunted by the specter of guilt for having dodged the most popular boxer in the planet who serves as lawmaker in the Philippines. No matter how he malign Pacquiao and undermine his status in the fistic community, he knows that he will be in the losing end once his fisticuffs with Pacquiao will not take place.

History will be harsh on him for having been identified as the main obstacle why a superfight did not materialize. After a series of negotiations that led to swapping of ugly accusations and harsh words with Team Pacquiao as well as Top Rank boss Bob Arum, the black ring terror is now finally changing his tune.

All that Pacquiao need to do now is to dispatch Marquez as quickly as possible in order not to leave a room full of doubts about his chances to even last the distance with the unbeaten Mayweather. Meanwhile, Arum justified the fourth Pacquiao-Marquez encounter. In a recent press statement, Arumk said the previous fights where Marquez claimed he was robbed of a clear win was actually close.

“They are close because they are close. There was controversy after the last fight and they are matched very well together. Both  of them will be looking for different strategies this time so that the winner will be more conclusive. That’s what they are saying – each of them will be more aggressive and each of them will be taking the fight to the other. That may be a disadvantage for Juan Manuel whose biggest advantage is counter-punching but he’s going to be a lot more aggressive as well,” Arum said. The promoter said he certain that “we will see a fight that is different from the other three.”

Arum added: “The reports we are getting from the closed circuit exhibitors and the foreign broadcasters are very enthusiastic so  we’re anticipating a tremendous event on December 8th. It will be a fight that will go into the annals of boxing history because these gentlemen that fought three previous times and over the course of the timeline, this fourth fight will be the best fight of all.”

Pacquiao meanwhile has vowed to finish his job with Marques. “We’re just doing our job in the ring. We have a job to do, to do our best and make the people happy. I never hate my opponent outside of the ring. It is just my job to fight and there is nothing personal. I guess we are kind of friends because I look at all of my opponents as a friend,” he declared.
